Our History

With over 90 years of experience in the home heating and cooling business, National Heating and Air Conditioning is one of the Greater Cincinnati region’s most experienced and trusted HVAC contractors.

National Heating and Air Conditioning was founded by Cincinnati entrepreneur, Scott Sublette, in 1930. One of Scott’s first employees was a young man named Sheldon Braun, Sr.  Sheldon learned the business, worked his way up the ranks, and eventually ran the company for Scott Sublette for many years. Mr. Sublette sold the business to Sheldon shortly before passing away in the early 1960s.

National Heating and Air Conditioning has always been a family-oriented business and carries on strong family traditions. In fact, Shelton Braun, Sr. named his son Scott after his beloved boss and mentor.  Today, Scott Braun is the sole owner of the company. As the business developed in the Braun family  the tradition continued.

Growing up in the business, Scott was mentored by a long-time employee Justin Korte and later went on to name his own son Justin after Mr. Korte. A traditional HVAC company known for its strong ethics and 100% customer satisfaction, National Heating and Air Conditioning has continued to be on the cutting edge of the industry throughout its existence. Having a strong background in heating and experts on boiler systems, they became one of the first companies to offer full air conditioning services in the Greater Cincinnati market, and are one of the first companies to offer a holistic diagnosis of homes and business looking beyond just the HVAC system, most recently offering full home and building automation.

While rooted in tradition, National Heating and Air Conditioning remains on the cutting edge of the home heating and cooling industry, offering customers the latest in building science-based solutions for maximum home comfort and energy efficiency.
